ABOUT
Darlin & Co. is designed by Joanie Leon Guerrero, a surface designer and artist based in Brooklyn, NY. After studying at Pratt Institute of Art & Design and a short stint as coordinator and contributor for the fashion pages at Fader Magazine, she left the editorial world for women’s apparel. Over the course of the next ten years she would hone her eye for color and pattern developing product and producing clothing for the Nili Lotan Design Studio, Ann Taylor & LOFT as well as freelancing at many well known brands including J.Crew, Victoria Secret and Ralph Lauren.
Today, Leon Guerrero spends her days creating vibrant patterns, stationary, and custom invitations. Her work is inspired by dynamic movement, vintage botanical illustrations, her Indigenous CHamoru heritage, nature and an undying love of the color green. When she is not designing or making music, her time is spent advocating for Indigenous rights, Equity, Womxn’s rights, and Environmental justice with the CHamoru Famao’lan/Non-Binary centered organization Masakåda Collective.
